Corbin Bleu, most recently on Broadway in the 2019 revival of Kiss Me, Kate, will be among the celebrities participating in Fox's new dance competition, The Real Dirty Dancing.
Hosted by Stephen “tWitch” Boss, the month-long competition will feature eight celebrities—Bleu, Brie Bella, Tyler Cameron, Cat Cora, Howie Dorough, Antonio Gates, Anjelah Johnson-Reyes, and Loni Love—reliving the film’s memorable dance moments in the hope of becoming the next “Baby” and “Johnny.”
The series is set to air Tuesdays, February 1, 8, 15, and 22 at 9 PM ET on Fox.
Set at Virginia’s Mountain Lake Lodge, which was the location for Dirty Dancing’s fictional Kellerman’s Lodge, the celebrities will partner up and learn the dance routines from the Jennifer Grey-and Patrick Swayze-led movie. The competition will also feature guest judges, leading to one man and one woman being crowned the winning Baby and Johnny.
The 1987 film, which featured the Oscar-winning song "(I've Had) the Time of My Life," also spawned a stage musical penned by the film's screenwriter Eleanor Bergstein, with choreography by Michele Lynch based on the original choreography by Kate Champion.
Bleu, whose Broadway credits also include In the Heights, Godspell, and Holiday Inn, will also be seen on the upcoming third season of Disney+'s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, guest starring as himself; Bleu is an alum of the original High School Musical film franchise.
After their telecasts, all episodes of The Real Dirty Dancing will be available on FOX’s free streaming platform, Tubi.
