Three-time Tony nominee Tim Curry (Spamalot, My Favorite Year, Amadeus, The Rocky Horror Picture Show) and Golden Globe-winning stage and screen star Lesley Ann Warren (Cinderella, Dream, Victor/Victoria, 79 Park Avenue), who played, respectively, Wadsworth and Miss Scarlet in Clue: The Movie, will reunite to host two upcoming screenings of the cult classic film.
The Ultra High Definition screenings—set for May 17 at California's Grove of Anaheim and June 6 at San Francisco's Curran Theater—will celebrate the film's 40th anniversary and will also feature in-depth conversations, Q&As with audience members, and more.
The whodunit comedy, based on the popular board game, also features Eileen Brennan as Mrs. Peacock, Madeline Kahn as Mrs. White, Christopher Lloyd as Professor Plum, Michael McKean as Mr. Green, and Martin Mull as Colonel Mustard. The 1985 film, directed by Jonathan Lynn, is set in 1954 at a New England
Mansion, where six strangers arrive for dinner, drinks, and murder.
“Celebrating this fabulous film on this very special 40th anniversary is an absolute joy for me,” says Warren in a statement. “I adore my Clue fans and look forward to seeing it together on the big screen! A riotous time for all! Let the party begin!”
The Stander Group, which is producing, has been presenting 40th anniversary Clue screenings across the country.
“I am thrilled to be on this journey with the lovely Lesley Ann Warren, hostess extraordinaire and the original Miss Scarlet, and with the iconic Tim Curry, the original Wadsworth, as we bring fans together for this one of kind evening,” added producer Stander. “Experiencing the fan engagement in packed theatres throughout the tour year-after-year testifies to its earned historic significance.”
