Reeve Carney (Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark) doesn't step into the role of Jay Gatsby—playing opposite his real-life wife, two-time Tony nominee Eva Noblezada as Daisy Buchanan—until March 30 at the Broadway Theatre, but The Great Gatsby fans can get a sneak peek in a new video featuring an acoustic version of the hit musical's "My Green Light."
Watch Carney and Noblezada perform Jason Howland's "My Green Light: Unplugged" in the video above. Produced by And That’s Strategy, the recording also features arrangements by composer Howland and Carney on guitar. Recorded by Ian Kagey at Renaissance Studios, the music producer is Billy Jay Stein.
The video was executive-produced by Katharine Quinn with direction and line producing by Es Um and creative direction and assistant direction by Imani Russell.
"My Green Light: Unplugged" also features editing by Masha Mikhailova, color grading by Bryce Saucier, photography by Little Fang Photo, hair and makeup by Chelsea Gehr, styling by Emma Pritchard and assistant stylist Jacinto Onofre. The director of photography was Masha Mikhailova; production assistants were Mason Robert Bray and Hannah Kulawiak.
Newlyweds Carney and Noblezada have a long history of sharing the stage, in the Broadway and London productions of Hadestown as well as the London revival of Cabaret. The Great Gatsby, however, will mark their first time performing on Broadway as husband and wife—the couple married in October of last year.
Also joining the cast March 30 will be Corbin Bleu (High School Musical; Kiss Me, Kate) as Nick Carraway and John Behlmann (Tootsie, Shucked) as Tom Buchanan.
