The inaugural SilverVox Film & Music Festival will screen the documentary Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror as its marquee centerpiece for this year's festival.

The film, which premiered at South by Southwest last year, traces the origins of one of the greatest cult classics of all time. Featuring extensive interviews with director Linus O'Brien's father Richard, who created Rocky Horror, as well as with stars Susan Sarandon, Tim Curry, and more, the film is a must watch for Rocky Horror fans.

O'Brien will attend the screening for a live Q&A, and in a nod to Rocky Horror's creative legacy, SilverVox will follow the documentary with a special presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show scheduled to screen thereafter. Strange Journey will be presented in arrangement with Magenta Light Studios, the production and distribution company founded by Oscar-winning producer Bob Yari.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the longest-running theatrical cinema release in the world. Starring Tim Curry as the devious and fabulous Frank-N-Furter; Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon as everybody's favorite nerdy couple, Brad and Janet; Meatloaf as ex-delivery boy Eddie who dates the groupie Columbia (played by Nell Campbell); and Patricia Quinn as Magenta, servant to Riff Raff (Richard O'Brien); the film blends mid-century B horror film aesthetics, sci-fi fantasy, and a hefty dose of taboo-shattering self-expression to create a wholly unique experience.

The SilverVox Film & Music Festival is a four-day collision of independent film, live music, and creative energy that will take over Downtown Frederick, Maryland June 18 through June 21.  The festival is put on by SilverVox, a nonprofit arts organization focused on amplifying independent voices and building experiences where filmmakers, musicians, artists and audiences meet on equal ground.

Produced by Adam Gibbs, Garret Price, Avner Shiloah, and O’Brien, Strange Journey is the newest venture from the team behind HBO and The Ringer’s Music Box films Woodstock 99 and Yacht Rock.
