Neil Patrick Harris (Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Into The Woods, Assassins) has joined the seminal sci-fi classic Doctor Who ahead of its 60th anniversary.
Details of Harris’ character have not yet been revealed, but the casting was announced by Harris with an on-set photo and a caption promising to "try (his) hardest to do (his) worst"
In an Instagram post, Who showrunner Russell T Davies described Harris' character the "greatest enemy the Doctor has ever faced."
The character is set to be revealed in 2023, during Doctor Who's 60th anniversary.
Davies added “It’s my huge honor to open our studio doors for the mighty Neil Patrick Harris… but who, why, what is he playing? You’ll just have to wait. But I promise you, the stuff we’re shooting now is off the scale. Doctor beware.”
