Brave New World: The Musical receives a private industry reading in New York City May 23.

The reading of the musical, an adaptation of the Aldous Huxley novel of the same name, features Tony nominee Joshua Henry as World Controller Thomas Mond, Solea Pfeiffer as Lenina, Tony nominee Ephraim Sykes as John, Tony nominee Mary Testa as Linda, and Mike Wartella as Bernard.

Rounding out the cast are Corey Brunish, Emma Degerstedt, Gabriel Sidney Brown, Gary Cooper, Tim Fraser, Sofia Khwaja, Kate Marilly, Ashley Matthews, Cal Mitchell, Anthony Sagaria, Deanne Stewart, Michael Wordly, and Claudia Yanez. Karen Carpenter directs.

World Controller Thomas Mond pulls the strings of a future dystopia in which sex, drugs, and distraction are all pushed onto the world's genetically engineered citizens, while love, art, and faith have been outlawed, but that control begins to slip when Lenina and Bernard travel to a savage reservation where they meet John and Linda and discover things that threaten the foundations of the world regime.

Brave New World: The Musical features a book by Ben Andron, music by John McDaniel, additional music by Jonnie Rockwell, and lyrics by Bill Russell. Stephen De'Angelis serves as casting director, and Aaron Grant Theatrical serves as general manager.
