Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will be honored with the Julie Andrews Lifetime Achievement Award at Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts' 2026 Gala, set for July 11 in Sag Harbor, New York.
The award recognizes individuals whose work has made a lasting impact on the performing arts, celebrating artistry, innovation, and a commitment to the future of theatre.
“For 35 years, Bay Street Theater has been a place where artists and audiences come together to experience the power of live storytelling,” said Artistic Director Scott Schwartz in a statement. “Honoring Lin-Manuel Miranda reflects that mission in action. His work has redefined what musical theatre can be, and his commitment to expanding access and opportunity in the arts resonates deeply with our own values.”
The upcoming gala evening will celebrate both Miranda and Bay Street Theater’s 35-year legacy. The event will begin with a VIP dinner at Le Bilboquet, followed by a cocktail reception at Bay Street Theater featuring champagne and hors d’oeuvres. The evening will continue with a performance, tributes, and a live auction. Performers will be announced at a later date.
Proceeds will support Bay Street Theater’s mainstage productions and education programs, continuing its mission to bring artists and audiences together through live performance.
