New Yorkers: there's a new pickleball league coming to town, and it's full of players who also know a thing or two about theatre. The new sports and social league Broadway Paddle Club will begin meeting weekly next month at a brand new facility for a competitive pickleball season full of both showtunes and sportiness.
For the next five weeks, Broadway Paddle Club will meet every Monday (concluding April 20) at New York City's newest pickleball facility in the heart of Times Square, CityPickle. Additional information including future seasons, events, sponsorship partners, and more will be announced soon.
“An intramural club? Hardly. The Broadway Paddle Club is something far more meaningful: a joyful rallying point for our community. At a moment when the world can feel a little chaotic, we wanted to create something wonderfully unifying—six weeks of connection, competition, and, sure, pitchers of court-side Mango Margaritas. We are so excited to welcome Broadway’s finest to the brand new CityPickle courts at 1501 Broadway for what promises to be a spirited, slightly overcommitted, and very fun season,” says Seaview CEO and BPC Commissioner Greg Nobile in a statement.
The leadership committee for Broadway Paddle Club includes commissioner Nobile, director of membership Jenny Gersten, merchandise co-directors Bee Carrozzini, Carly Callahan, and Devyn Itula, "co-directors of fun" Doug Nevin and Oliver Roth, director of sponsorship John Johnson, director of communications Alex Seeley, director of finance Tracy Geltman, and director of memorabilia and awards Nate Koch.
