Producer Jamie deRoy Will Receive Honorary Doctorate From Carnegie Mellon
Pittsburgh native deRoy has produced a number of Tony-winning Broadway hits, including Merrily We Roll Along, Stereophonic, and Leopoldstadt.

Producer Jamie deRoy will receive an honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from her alma mater, Carnegie Mellon University. The prolific producer behind 15 Tony-winning productions will be honored with the degree at the institution's May 10 commencement ceremony.
A Pittsburgh native, deRoy has produced a number of Broadway and Off-Broadway hits, including recent Tony-winning standouts Merrily We Roll Along, Stereophonic, Leopoldstadt, and many more. Over the course of her career she has co-produced more than 160 Broadway and off-Broadway productions.
In addition to deRoy's success in the theatre industry, she has also worked with television, first hosting Cabaret Beat, then her Telly Award-winning variety show Jamie deRoy & Friends, which has aired for the last 36 years, bringing New York's nightlife and theatre scene directly to viewer's homes. She has also earned an Emmy nomination for her work at Channel Thirteen/CityArts. DeRoy has also produced acclaimed documentaries Broadway: The Golden Age and its sequel, Broadway: Beyond the Golden Age. Most recently, she has served as a producer on Rutanya Alda’s Land of Moustaches.
DeRoy's additional honors include MAC Awards, Drama Desk, Outer Critics, Drama League, and Audience Choice Awards. Her dedication to promoting and supporting theatre has also earned her a place in the MJHI Manhattan Jewish Hall of Fame, as well as various Lifetime Achievement recognitions, including the Albert Einstein Spirit of Achievement and The York Theatre Founders’ Award.
