Wild About You, a new musical with music and lyrics by Chilina Kennedy (The Great Gatsby), a book by Dani Stoller, and additional material by Eric Holmes (The Good Fight), has found casting for its previously announced NYC industry reading, set to be held March 23. Keaka Productions' Brian Spector is producing.
The reading cast will feature Jackie Burns (Wicked), Jessica Phillips (Redwood), Charlie Pollock (The Great Gatsby), Noah J. Ricketts (The Great Gatsby), Josh Strobl (The Outsiders), and Chani Wereley (Shucked).
The work was released as an album in 2023 via Broadway Records and got a deluxe edition via Center Stage Records September 27 with two new bonus tracks covering material written since the first release. Producers are looking forward to a developmental production in early 2027.
Wild About You—previously titled With(out) Her—is being directed by Kristin Hanggi (Rock of Ages). The musical, set to a pop-folk score, follows Olivia as she puts together the pieces of her life with a limited memory after finding herself in the hospital. Through a jumbled past, she wonders which one of the loves of her life is her emergency contact, and as she gains clarity, she remembers her greatest love: her son.
The project's creative team also includes music supervisor, music director, arranger, and orchestrator Daniel Edmonds (The Great Gatsby).
Originally developed at Eclipse Theatre Company, Wild About You held an industry presentation in March 2023, and has since been seen in concert at London's Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
