The York Theatre Company has found its new executive director. Marie Grace LaFerrara is stepping into the position, effective immediately. LaFerrara joins the theatre company after serving on a leadership development team at Arial as the Business Development Manager.
“I look forward to serving The York as a committed leader with a passionate connection to the organization’s long-upheld mission,” says LaFerrara in a statement. She will collaborate in particular with The York's Producing Artistic Director James Morgan, who said in his own statement, "With her fresh perspective and wealth of experience, we are confident that she will make a lasting impression on our organization."
Prior to Ariel, LaFerrar also servred as events manager and licensing specialist at Business Insurance magazine, and director and theatre educator at Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts. A native New Yorker, LaFerrara holds a B.F.A. from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and was previously a musical theatre performer.
The York Theatre Company has presented Vanities—The Revised Musical, as well as the recent New York and world premieres of Penelope: or How the Odyssey Was Really Written, Cheek to Cheek: Irving Berlin in Hollywood, and more.
