The new coming-of-age movie Anything's Possible has released a trailer. The movie will mark Tony winner Billy Porter's film directorial debut, and stars Broadway favorites Renée Elise Goldsberry, Manu Narayan, and Courtnee Carter. The movie about young love is set to arrive on Amazon Prime July 22.
Written by Ximena Garcia Lecuona, the romantic drama is an uplifting Gen Z story about confident Trans high schooler Kelsa and her experience navigating senior year, which becomes drama-filled after her classmate Khal admits to having a crush on her. Watch the full trailer above.
The movie stars Hamilton actor and Tony winner Goldsberry, best known for originating the role of Angelica Schuyler in the 11-time Tony Award-winning Broadway musical; Narayan, currently playing Theo in the 2022 Tony-nominated revival of Company; and Once On This Island alum Courtnee Carter, along with Eva Reign, Abubakr Ali, Simone Joy Jones, Kelly Lamor Wilson, Grant Reynolds, Eva Reign, Naveen Paddock, Caroline Travers, Noah Pacht, Ken Lutz, Lav Raman, and Shawn McClurg.
Led by Porter, the creative team consists of producers Christine Vachon, David Hinojosa, Andrew Lauren, and D.J. Gugenheim; executive producers Lecuona, Porter, and Allison Rose Carter; with composer Leo Birenberg. Executive music producers include Porter and Justin Tranter.
Recently Porter was slated to direct an episode of Fox's crime anthology Accused. The performer's work as a director in the theatre community includes helming Sam Harris' 2015 solo show HAM: A Musical Memoir, and the recent New York City Center Encores! production of The Life. The actor is acclaimed for originating the roles of Lola in Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein's Kinky Boots and Aubrey Lyles in Shuffle Along, Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed, as well as starring in productions of Angels in America, Little Shop of Horrors, Grease, Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Joe, and Smokey Joe's Cafe. His television and movie credits include making an appearance in Apple TV+'s Dear, starring opposite Camila Cabello and Idina Menzel in Amazon Prime's Cinderella, and leading the cast of Ryan Murphy's FX series Pose.
