Mona Mansour's The Vagrant Trilogy has extended its Off-Broadway run at The Public Theater by a week, now running through May 15. Performances begin April 8 with an official opening night April 25. The show from the Public’s Emerging Writers Group alum finally makes its anticipated run after its 2020 production was shut down due to the COVID pandemic days before its first performance was scheduled to take place.

The originally announced ensemble cast, each playing multiple roles from a total of 19 characters across three generations and multiple decades, have all returned for the New York Off-Broadway premiere, including Tala Ashe as Abir, Ramsey Faragallah as Ghassan, Osh Ashruf as Hamzi, Nadine Malouf as Jamila, Rudy Roushdi as Jul, and Hadi Tabbal as Adham. Bassam Abdelfattah, Caitlin Nasema Cassidy, and Nuah Ozryel are understudies.

Directed by Obie Award-winner Mark Wing-Davey, The Vagrant Trilogy is an exploration of the Palestinian struggle for home and identity that unfolds over three parts. It begins with Adham, a scholar, going to London in 1967 with his wife and being faced with a decision of what to do when war breaks out back home in Palestine. His decision is played out in two alternate realities in the second and third parts. The run begins with a Joseph Papp free performance.

The production's originally announced creative team also returns for the 2022 run, with Wing-Davey leading a team comprising scenic designer Allen Moyer, costume designer Dina El-Aziz, lighting designer Reza Behjat, sound designers Tye Hunt Fitzgerald and Sinan Refik Zafar, and video designer Greg Emetaz. Hair, wig, and make-up design will be by Tom Watson, with Susan Barras and Alexander Wylie serving as prop managers, Caroline Englander as production stage manager, and Luisa Sánchez Colón as stage manager.
