The 80th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony, honoring outstanding debut performances in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production, will be presented June 2 at 2 PM at a venue to be announced.
Theatre journalist Peter Filichia will again host the ceremony, produced by Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors and President Dale Badway. Winners will be announced at a later date.
This year's honorees will be chosen by the Theatre World Awards Committee: Linda Armstrong, David Cote, Joe Dziemianowicz, Peter Filichia, David Finkle, Elysa Gardner, Cary Wong, and Frank Scheck.
The ceremony will also include the presentations of the Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater, honoring an outstanding performance in a Broadway or Off-Broadway production; and The John Willis Award, given for lifetime achievement in the theatre. The latter honors the late Willis, who created and maintained the Theatre World tradition for 66 years, encouraging new talent in an often-challenging business.
The Theatre World Awards, Inc. Board of Directors is headed by President Badway with Vice Presidents Tom Lynch and Michael Kostel, Secretary Stephen Wilde, Treasurer Rozanne Scarpelli, James Sheridan, Karen Johnston, and Arthur Makar.
