Amy Carlson, Kevin Csolak to Lead Reading of New Play Stella & Marlon

Abingdon Theatre Company's new piece will spotlight the working relationship of Stella Adler and Marlon Brando.

Amy Carlson (Blue Bloods) and Kevin Csolak (The Outsiders) will star Abingdon Theatre Company’s presentation of new play Stella & Marlon. The play will be read as part of ATC’s One Night Only Series at the Laurie Beechman Theatre April 29.

The work, written by Julia Adler Batavia and directed by Alberto Bonilla, follows a young Stella Adler as she returns to teach in NYC after feeling unaccomplished in Hollywood. As she is losing hope for her career, she suddenly meets an extraordinary student who revitalizes her dreams: Marlon Brando.

In addition to Carlson and Csolak, the cast includes Maria Bilbao (Sweeney Todd), E.J. Carroll (The Deuce), Erin Davie (Diana), Colby Kipnes (The Beast in Me), and Adam Monley (Tootsie), with casting by Karie Koppel at Koppel Casting and stage management by Allison Hohman.
