Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be helming a new show for Prime Video, following the international success of comedy-drama Fleabag. According to Deadline, the new project will begin shooting sometime this year. Additional details regarding the show have yet to be disclosed.

Fleabag originally premiered as a one-woman show at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, created and performed by Waller-Bridge. The television adaptation ran for two seasons on the streamer starring Waller-Bridge in the title role, and West End actors Andrew Scott (Sea Wall) and Sian Clifford (Consent).

Following the debut of season 2 and its U.K. run, Fleabag had a limited run at New York City's SoHo Playhouse in 2019. The stage production was filmed live from a run at London's National Theatre and screened through their National Theatre Live series.

The Amazon series, which won two Golden Globes for Best Television Series and Best Actress, and six Primetime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, was distributed by BBC Three and Amazon Studios. In response to the show's popularity, Waller-Bridge received a three-year deal with the streamer, with this Fleabag follow-up being her first project created under the deal.

Other television credits for Waller-Bridge include starring in television shows His Dark Materials and Run. She is also an executive producer and writer for BCC's Killing Eve, starring Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer.
