Berkeley Rep has announced the Swept Away's world premiere has been extended for a third and final week and will now run through March 13.
Set off the coast of Massachusetts in 1888, the musical tells the tale of how four sailors choose to survive after a violent storm sinks their whaling ship. The cast features Wayne Duvall, Adrian Blake Enscoe, John Gallagher, Jr., and Stark Sands; the ensemble includes Taurean Everett, Cameron Johnson, Brandon Kalm, Robert Pendilla, Ben Toomer, Vishal Vaidya, Ryan Watkinson, and Jacob Keith Watson.

The book for Swept Away is penned by Tony Award-winning stage and screen writer John Logan (Moulin Rouge!) with music and lyrics by multiple Grammy Award-nominee The Avett Brothers. Tony Award-winning Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) is directing.
Serving on the creative team are David Neumann for choreography, Chris Miller and Brian Usifer for music arrangement and orchestrations, Julie Wolf for music direction, Sean Kana for music direction and conducting, Rachel Hauck for scenic design, Susan Hilferty for costume design, Kevin Adams for lighting design, and Kai Harada for sound design. The show is produced by special arrangement with Matthew Masten, Sean Hudock, and Madison Wells Live.
