The world premiere of the Broadway-aimed new musical Loch Ness will be part of Two River Theater’s 2026-2027 season. Performances at the New Jersey venue are scheduled for March 10-April 4, 2027.
With music by Marshall Pailet, lyrics by A.D. Penedo, and a book by Sandy Rustin, the new musical follows Haley, a spirited Scottish girl, as she dives into the misty waters searching for truth and connection.
Pailet will also direct the production with music direction and arrangements by Myrna Conn and choreography by Misha Shields. Casting and additional creative team members will be announced at a later date. Victoria Lang, Mark Schwartz, and Martian Entertainment are attached as producers.
The 2026-2027 Two River season will also include August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, directed by Francois Battiste (September 12-October 4, 2026); the East Coast premiere of Melinda Lopez and Joel Perez's Stir, a new comedy about two siblings piecing together their mother’s black bean recipe, with direction by Eddie Torres (October 31-November 22); the world premiere of Jake Brasch's Trip Around the Sun, set in a Florida retirement community and set to feature direction by Shelley Butler (June 5-27, 2027); and William Shakespeare's The Two Gentlemen of Verona, adapted and directed by Illana Stein (May 1-8).
