They've got heaven on their minds. Goodspeed Musicals has found full casting for their upcoming production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's Jesus Christ Superstar, performing at the East Haddam, Connecticut, theatre April 17-June 7. Opening night will be April 29.

The cast will be led by Justin Matthew Sargent (Spiderman: Turn Off The Dark) as Jesus, Austin Lesch (Frozen) as Judas, Stephanie Zaharis as Mary, Deven Kolluri as Pilate, Nicolette Antonia Shin as King Herod, Jamari Darling (Ain't Too Proud) as Caiaphas, and Kevin Trino Perdido (Once Upon a One More Time) as Annas.

The ensemble will include Jordan Alexander, Elijah Dawson, Jack Hale, Michael James, Eleni Kontzamanys, Alex Lauren, Kathy Liu, Adam Mandala, Thabitha Moruthane (Little Shop of Horrors), Mikaela Rada, Matthew Saggiomo, and Garrick Vaughan, with swings Dakota Hoar and Selena Robinson rounding out the company. Casting is by Paul Hardt of Hardt Casting.

Tatiana Pandiani (Someone Spectacular) is directing the staging, which will feature choreography by Amy Campbell (Romy & Michele), music direction by Adam Souza, scenic design by Riccardo Hernández, costume design by Siena Zoë Allen, lighting design by Cha See, sound design by Jay Hilton, and wig, hair, and makeup design by Caitlin Molloy. Chris Zaccardi will serve as production stage manager.

Jesus Christ Superstar debuted in 1970 as a concept album, giving a rock edge to the Biblical Passion story of Jesus. The work put Lloyd Webber and Rice on the map, and continues to be one of their most beloved and produced works. In just the last few years, NBC mounted a live concert broadcast featuring John Legend, Sara Barellies, Brandon Victor Dixon, and Alice Cooper; while an all-star Hollywood Bowl staging recently starred Cynthia Erivo, Adam Lambert, and Phillipa Soo. The score includes such favorites as "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "Gethsemane," and the rousing title song.

Goodspeed's production is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of LW Entertainment.
