Creative teams have been announced for the 101st summer season at The Muny, the country's largest outdoor theatre.

Kicking off the new season June 10 will be the classic American musical Guys and Dolls, which runs through June 16. Gordon Greenberg will direct the production with choreography by Lorin Latarro and musical direction by conductor Brad Haak.

The Muny will be the first regional theatre in the U.S. to produce the Tony-, Olivier-, and Grammy-winning musical Kinky Boots, which will be presented June 19–25. DB Bonds will direct with choreography by Rusty Mowery and musical direction by conductor Ryan Fielding Garrett.

Peter Stone and Sherman Edwards’ Tony-winning1776, about the signing of the Declaration of Independence, will be directed by Rob Ruggiero with musical direction by conductor James Moore. Performances are June 27–July 3.

Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge will direct Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, which will also feature choreography by Josh Walden and musical direction by conductor Greg Anthony Rassen. The family favorite will play the famed venue July 8–16.

Footloose, based on the hit film of the same name, will run July 18–24. The limited engagement will be directed by two-time Tony winner Christian Borle, who recently made his New York directorial debut with Popcorn Falls, with choreography by Jessica Hartman and music direction by conductor Andrew Graham.

Paint Your Wagon, which features a revised book by Jon Marans, will be seen July 27–August 2 under the direction of Josh Rhodes, who also choreographs. Ben Whiteley is the music director/conductor.

The season will conclude with the award-winning Matilda August 5–11. Avenue Q Tony nominee John Tartaglia will direct, with choreography by Chris Bailey and music direction by conductor Michael Horsley.

The St. Louis Muny regularly attracts top Broadway talent. Last summer's productions featured Tony winner Beth Leavel, Jennifer Simard, Christopher Sieber, Corbin Bleu, Nathan Lee Graham, Rob McClure, and more.


New subscriptions will go on sale in March 2019, and single tickets will be available beginning in May 2019.
