Max Von Essen and Tyne Daly will lead Alexandra Silber's new adaptation of Brigadoon at Pasadena Playhouse this summer. The production will run May 13-June 14, with an official opening night May 17. Katie Spelman is directing and choreographing.
Lerner & Loewe’s Brigadoon premiered on Broadway in 1947 and tells the story of Tommy and Jeff, two American tourists who happen upon a peculiar Scottish village that only appears for one day every 100 years. When one of the Americans falls for a local woman, he questions whether he ever wants to leave.
Von Essen and Daly will star as Tommy Albright and Widow Lundie (originally Mr. Lundie), respectively, alongside Betsy Morgan as Fiona MacLaren, Happy Anderson as Jeff Douglas, and Daniel Yearwood as Charlie Dalrymple. Additional casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.
