The world premiere production of Safe Home by Tom Hanks and James Glossman will make its world premiere July 15-August 7 at Shadowland Stages in Ellenville, New York. The Forrest Gump actor stopped by during rehearsals recently and took photos with the cast and crew.
Directed by Glossman, the play is based on stories from Hanks' book Uncommon Type. The show follows inventor Bert Allenberry as he travels through a time-bending odyssey and meets new people and places as he seeks his "safe home."

The production stars Timothy Busfield, Ellis Cahill, Leyu Girma, Paul Murphy, James Riordan, Nikkole Salter, and Angeline Rose Troy.
“Shadowland Stages is the ideal venue for Safe Home, a safe home for a new play," shares Hanks. "The possibility to come back to the theatre, to the fine hands of the ensemble, is fresh, thrilling, and due!"
Along with his many accolades—including multiple Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, and Golden Globe Awards—Hanks was nominated for a Tony Award for his Broadway debut in Nora Ephron's Lucky Guy. His screen credits include Big, Philadelphia, and Saving Private Ryan.
