Mark Jacoby, Robyn Hurder, and Linda Powell will join the previously announced Will Swenson in A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical, set to make its world premiere at Boston's Emerson Colonial Theatre beginning June 21.
Additional casting and creative team members will be announced at a later date.
The production, which will feature a book by four-time Oscar nominee Anthony McCarten, will be helmed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer and choreographed by Steven Hoggett, working with a creative team that will include scenic designer David Rockwell, costume designer Emilio Sosa, lighting designer Kevin Adams, sound designers Jessica Paz, and hair and wig designer Luc Verschueren.
The production will include music supervision and arrangements by Sonny Paladino, incidental music and dance music arrangements by Brian Usifer, vocal design by AnnMarie Milazzo, and orchestrations by Bob Gaudio, Sonny Paladino, and Brian Usifer.
Bonnie Panson will serve as production stage manager, Jamie Harrison as illusion consultant, Kathy Fabian as prop designer, and Ryan Conway of Architect Theatrical as general manager. Casting is by Jim Carnahan. Ken Davenport and Bob Gaudio are producing.
Among Diamond's recordings are “Cracklin’ Rose,” “Sweet Caroline,” “Song Sun Blue,” “Longfellow Serenade,” “I’ve Been This Way Before,” “If You Know What I Mean,” “Desiree,” “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers,” “America,” “Yesterday’s Song,” and “Heartlight.” The Grammy winner is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award. Diamond has also received the Kennedy Center Honor.
