Erin E. Adams' play explores grief—and ghost stories.

Erin E. Adams' Ink'dWell completes its Off-Broadway run in 59E59's Theater C October 16. The co-production from 59E59 Theaters and New Light Theater Project began previews September 29 and opened October 5.

Kendra, played by Britney Nicole Simpson (Penelope or How the Odyssey Was Really Written),  returns to her childhood home in Martha's Vineyard after the tragic death of her brother. As she searches for answers, a ghost story from Kendra's childhood resurfaces, leaving Kendra to navigate her grief, her relationship with her family, and the truth of what happened to her brother.

Joining Simpson in the cast is Starr Kirkland (Black Feminist Video Game) as Ember, Tai Leshaun (Thunder Force) as Nia, Cherene Snow (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) as Maya, and Landon G. Woodson (B-Boy Blues) as Isaac.

The creative team, led by director Tabatha Gayle (Tragic Fragments), comprises scenic and projection designer Anna Kiraly, choreographer Louis DeVaughn Nelson, costume designer Daricel Calcano, lighting designer Annie Wiegand, sound designer Isaiah Howell, and ASL interpretation by Emily Hart and Mark Weissglass. Madeleine Blossom serves as production stage manager.

New Light Theater Project, a co-op resident theatre company of 59E59 Theaters, kicks off its 2022 New Light New Voices Fall Festival with the play.
