Following a series of sold-out concert presentations earlier this month, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody will have a fully staged run Off-Broadway in the spring.

Directed by Alan Kliffer, performances will begin May 12 prior to an official opening May 26 at the 6th Floor Theater at 530 West 27th Street (formerly The McKittrick Hotel).

Featuring a book and score by Dylan MarcAurele, the production will star Jay Armstrong Johnson (On the Town, Hands on a Hardbody, Catch Me If You Can) as Ilya Rozanov and Jimin Moon (Sunset Blvd., Lempicka, Disney’s Aladdin) as Shane Hollander. The eight-week limited run will also feature Ryann Redmond, Cherry Torres, and Ryan Duncan. (Johnson will not perform the role of Ilya June 15-22.)

Inspired by the hit HBO Max series about a complicated romance between two professional hockey players, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody follows starry-eyed golden boy Shane Hollander on his "journey from power center to power bottom," according to press notes.

The creative team also includes choreographer Brooke and Tiffany Engen, scenic designer Sully Ross, costume designer Brendan McCann, lighting designer Devin Cameron, and sound designer Germán Martinez.

Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is produced by Klif Entertainment.
