American musical Lizard Boy is getting a live cast album—and you're invited. Set to be released later this year, the album will be created from recordings made during performances on June 21, 23, and 28. The release date and track list will be announced soon.

Previews began June 1 at Off-Broadway's Theater Row where the show opened its New York premiere June 14. Read the reviews for the strictly limited engagement through July 1 here.

With book, music and lyrics by Justin Huertas, the production features original stars Huertas, Kiki deLohr, and William A. Williams. Following Trevor, a man who has lizard skin due to an unusual childhood incident, the musical takes audiences on his journey of finding acceptance and empowerment as he goes on a Grindr date, encounters an old classmate, and must prepare to be a hero—for himself and the world. And it's all set to an indie rock-infused score that also spans pop and folk influences.

Huertas, deLohr, and Williams play eight instruments including cello, guitar, ukulele, piano, melodica, glockenspiel, percussion, and kazoo throughout the show. Huertas has played cello since he was a child, but the actors learned most of these instruments for the roles.
