See Who's Joining Jennifer Nettles in Her World Premiere Musical Giulia

The new work from the Grammy winner is headed Off-Broadway to Perelman Performing Arts Center.

Full casting has been found for the upcoming world premiere Jennifer Nettles musical Giulia: The Poison Queen of Palermo, set to bow Off-Broadway at Perelman Performing Arts Center beginning June 28. Opening night will be July 10, with the limited run set to continue through July 26.

Joining the previously announced Nettles in the title role will be Matthew Amira as Carlo, Quentin Earl Darrington as Cardinale, Emily Fink as Maria, Bre Jackson as La Capitana, Andrew Kober as Pietro, Aubrey Matalon as Renata, Christopher M. Ramirez as Governatore, Didi Romero as Duchessa, Naomi Serrano as Vitoria, and Sam Simahk as Father Paolo, along with Jamila Sabares-Klemm and Maya Sistruck. 

Understudies Kim Onah and Kaleb Wells and standby Jessica Rush will round out the company. Casting is by The TRC Company's Claire Burke and Peter Van Dam.

The new work tracks a real-life serial killer whose trail of murder begins with an act of self-defense. Nettles has written the musical's book, music, and lyrics, and Mary Zimmerman is directing. The premiere is being produced by special arrangement with Adam Zotovich.

The production will also feature choreography by Austin McCormick, music direction and arrangements by Adam Rothenberg, scenic design by Daniel Ostling, costume design by Ana Kuzmanić, lighting design by T.J. Gerckens, sound design by Palmer Hefferan, hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe, orchestrations by Cian McCarthy, and music coordination by Michael Aarons. Erin Gioia Albrecht will serve as production stage manager with assistant stage managers Jo Fernandez and Jakob W. Plummer.
