Pulitzer Prize winner Martyna Majok's Sanctuary City completes its Los Angeles premiere at Pasadena Playhouse October 9. Previews for the Zi Alikhan-directed production began September 14 and opened September 18.
Screen actors Ana Nicolle Chavez (Truth Be Told) and Miles Fowler (Winning Time) star as G and B, respectively, two life-long friends who experience both the good and the bad of living in America.
The creative team is comprised of scenic designer Chika Shimizu, costume designer Jojo Siu, lighting designer Solomon Weisbard, and sound designer John Nobori. Amanda Rose Villarreal serves as intimacy coordinator, and casting is by The Telsey Office. Brandon Hong Cheng is stage manager, and Lydia Runge is assistant stage manager.
Playwright Majok is currently working on the Broadway-aimed musical adaptation of The Great Gatsby with Florence and the Machine’s Florence Welch and Thomas Bartlett, and her Pulitzer-winning play Cost of Living is currently making its Broadway debut via Manhattan Theatre Club.
