Julia Jarcho’s Marie It's Time plays its final performance at HERE’s Mainstage Theatre October 1. The extended Off-Broadway run opened September 9 following the beginning of previews September 7.
Starring Jarcho, Jennifer Seastone, and Kedian Keohan, the work draws inspiration from Georg Büchner’s 1913 play Woyzeck. Jarcho and Seastone fight for the role of Büchner’s lead Marie, in the “fucked-up mixtape” with Keohan starring as Major.
Ásta Bennie Hostetter directs the production which features original music composition by Jarcho and Jeff Aaron Bryant, sound design by Ben Williams and Elliot Yokum, set design by Meredith Ries, costume design by Hahnji Jang, and lighting design by Ebony Burton.
Set in a 1947 Provincetown beach house, the play unfolds over one sultry night as Tennessee Williams and a young Marlon Brando craft A Streetcar Named Desire together.
Set in the aftermath of an unimaginable tragedy—a child shooting another child at school—two mothers struggle with sainthood and demonization in the glare of the national spotlight.
Combining DIY robotics, heartfelt storytelling, and traditional magic, Mario the Maker Magician’s show inspires kids and families to embrace the joy of making.
Surrounded by period accurate 19th-century holiday decorations lit via candlelight, the 70-minute production is based on Dickens' own script of the classic.
