Danny Wolohan will succeed Andy Grotelueschen as Samuel Byck in Classic Stage Company's sold-out production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman’s Assassins beginning January 14. Grotelueschen is departing to fulfill another commitment.
Wolohan, who originated the role of Boo Radley in the Broadway staging of To Kill a Mockingbird, previously played attempted Nixon assassin Byck in the 2017 City Center Encores! production of Assassins, directed by Anne Kauffman. Wolohan also played Officer Krupke in Ivo van Hove’s Broadway production of West Side Story.
The CSC production, helmed by Artistic Director John Doyle, has also added a 2 PM performance January 30. Tickets for this final performance, a benefit for Classic Stage Company, will go on sale January 13 at noon at ClassicStage.org.
