Off-Broadway News See Who Will Star in the U.S. Premiere of Emma Rice's Wuthering Heights

Wise Children has announced tour dates for the adaptation, which will begin its U.S. debut at Off-Broadway's St. Ann's Warehouse.

Wise Children's Wuthering Heights

Director Emma Rice's adaptation of Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights has found its U.S. premiere cast. The show will tour the U.S. starting with performances Off-Broadway at St. Ann's Warehouse October 14 with dates set through November 6 as previously announced.

The cast for the New York run will include several actors reprising their performances from earlier runs of the production, including Sam Archer as Lockwood/Edgar Linton, Nandi Bhebhe as The Yorkshire Moor, Katy Ellis as swing, and Katy Owen as Isabella Linton/Linton Heathcliff. They are joined by Lloyd Gorman as Mr Earnshaw/Robert, TJ Holmes as Dr Kenneth, Jordan Laviniere as Zillah, Lucy McCormick as Catherine, Tama Phethean as Hindley Earnshaw/Hareton Earnshaw, Eleanor Sutton as Frances Earnshaw/Young Cathy, and Liam Tamne as Heathcliff. Steph Elstob serves as understudy, and music will be performed by Sid Goldsmith, Pat Moran, and Jeevan Singh.

Wise Children is presenting the co-production with the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, and York Theatre Royal, and in association with Berkeley Repertory Theater. Following St. Ann's, Wuthering Heights will have runs at Berkeley Repertory Theater (November 18, 2022-January 2, 2023), the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (January 11-22, 2023), and Chicago Shakespeare Theater (January 25-February 28, 2023). Further stops will be announced at a later date.

Joining the cast for the Berkeley Rep run, and continuing with the production's stops following, will be Georgia Bruce as Isabella Linton/Linton Heathcliff, Leah Brotherhead as Catherine, Ricardo Castro as Jonathan, and Katy Ellis as Zillah, with Jordan Laviniere taking on the role of The Yorkshire Moor.

The story follows Heathcliff, who is rescued from the Liverpool docks and adopted by the Earnshaws before being taken to live at Wuthering Heights where he finds a kindred spirit in the Earnshaws' daughter, Catherine. Love ignites, but the two are forced apart, unleashing a brutal chain of events.

Rice helms the production, which will feature set and costume design by Vicki Mortimer, sound and video by Simon Baker, composition by Ian Ross, lighting design by Jai Morjaria, and movement and choreography by Etta Murfitt.
