Off-Broadway News Rare Revival of Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending Begins Off-Broadway July 9

Theatre for a New Audience presents the work at Brooklyn's Polonsky Shakespeare Center.

TFANA's Off-Broadway production of Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending begins July 9 at the Polonsky Shakespeare Center in Brooklyn for a run through August 6. 

Maggie Siff leads the cast as Lady Torrance with Pico Alexander as Valentine Xavier. They are joined by Molly Kate Babos, Michael Cullen, Matt DeAngelis, Gene Gillette, Laura Heisler, Prudence Wright Holmes, Brian Keane, Julia McDermott, Ana Reeder, Maggie Siff, Kate Skinner, Fiana Tóibín, James Waterston, and Dathan B. Williams.

The work follows two outcasts, a storekeeper's wife and a wandering guitar player, as they attempt to escape a Southern Hell.

Erica Schmidt is directing the work, which features set design by Amy Rubin, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by David Weiner, sound design and compositions by Justin Ellington, physical movement coordinating by Lorenzo Pisoni, prop supervision by Justin Cox, dramaturgy by John Lahr, voice direction by Andrew Wade, dialect coaching by Xavier Clark, and production stage management by Shane Schnetzler.
