Perfect Crime

The whodunit murder mystery Perfect Crime celebrates its 14,000th performance July 24 at Off-Broadway's Anne L. Bernstein Theater in Times Square's The Theater Center.

Perfect Crime, which celebrated its 35th anniversary earlier this year, is the longest-running play in New York City history. Written by Warren Manzi and produced by Armand Hyatt, the show follows brilliant psychiatrist and suspected killer Margaret Brent, her wealthy husband, her deranged patient, and her love interest, a handsome detective.

Catherine Russell, who has been with the production since its beginning, stars alongside Mark Campbell, David Butler, and Charles Geyer. Restaurateur Patrick Robustelli makes a video cameo. Jeffrey Hyatt directs with Jay Cail Stone serving as technical director and graphic designer.

The murder mystery has played continually since 1987, and was the first Equity-approved production to reopen following the COVID shutdown.
