The Off-Broadway musical Between The Lines has announced that they will be hosting a children's book drive August 2–7. Children's and young adult books can be donated in new or gently used condition at the Tony Kiser Theater for the length of the drive. The event is being held in partnership with Hindi's Libraries, a Long Island based literary nonprofit.

"Being that I am a tremendous theatregoer, I am so grateful for this opportunity to share two of my passions: performing arts and literacy," said Hindi's LIbrary Co-Founder Leslie Gang in a statement. "I am grateful to Daryl Roth and her entire team for supporting our cause and helping us give the gift of literacy."

Between The Lines opened July 11 at Off-Broadway's Tony Kiser Theater. The new musical follows high schooler Delilah, an outsider in a new school, who seeks comfort in her favorite book where she feels heard and understood. But, the lines between reality and fantasy begin to blur, and she has to confront whether she has the power to rewrite her own story.

The production features Arielle Jacobs as Delilah, Jake David Smith as Prince Oliver, Vicki Lewis as Ms. Winx/Jessamyn Jacobs/Mrs. Brown/Kyrie, Hillary Fisher as Allie/Princess Seraphima, Will Burton as Frump/Ryan, Jerusha Cavazos as Janice/Marina, John Rapson as Dr. Ducharme/Rapskulio, Wren Rivera as Jules/Ondine, Sean Stack as Martin/Troll/Dad/Delivery Person, and Julia Murney as Grace/Queen Maureen. Heather Ayers, Dan Hoy, Martin Landry, and Aubrey Matalon serve as understudies.

The work, based on the novel by Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, features a book by Timothy Allen McDonald (James and the Giant Peach), and a score by Elyssa Samsel and Kate Anderson (Central Park). Jeff Calhoun (Newsies) directs, with orchestrations and arrangements by Gregory Rassen (Bandstand).
