Heartbreak Hotel and The Exhibitionist to Arrive Off-Broadway

Both productions will play strictly limited engagements at the DR2 Theatre via Occasional Drawl.

February 12, 2026 By Margaret Hall

Occasional Drawl will present EBKM’s Heartbreak Hotel and James Hindman’s The Exhibitionist in a season of limited engagements at Off-Broadway's DR2 Theatre later this spring. Heartbreak Hotel will run March 24-April 19, with The Exhibitionist following May 19-June 28.

The U.S. premiere of Heartbreak Hotel comes on the heels of its sold-out run at London’s Soho Theatre. The latest from New Zealand creatives Eleanor Bishop and Karin McCracken encapsulates heartache, breakup songs, and fresh starts. McCracken and Simon Leary will reprise their performances for the New York engagement. The production will feature production and lighting design by Filament Eleven 11, and sound design by Te Aihe Butler. Melanie Hamilton is the creative producer.

The Exhibitionist is making its Off-Broadway premiere after its summer 2023 win at Apsen’s Solo Flights Festival and a spring 2024 developmental lab and industry reading in New York City. The 65-minute solo comedy explores the joys and terrors of being an artist. Andrew Russell is directing. Casting and further creative team members are to be announced.

Jeff Hiller serves as executive producer, with Occasional Drawl's Brian Letchworth and Christa Scott-Reed serving as lead producer.
