The Freaky Friday premiere will broadcast nationally August 10 at 8pm EST, 7pm CST, and 8pm PST on the Disney Channel. The cast includes Cozi Zuehlsdorff as Ellie Blake, Heidi Blickenstaff as Katherine Blake, Jason Maybaum as Fletcher Blake, Alex Désert as Mike Harper, Ricky He as Adam, Kahyun Kim as Torrey Min, Dara Reneé as Savannah, Isaiah Lehtinen as Karl Carlson, Jennifer Laporte as Monica Yang and Sarah Willey as Kitty.

Appearing in the ensemble are Rukiya Bernard, Joshua Pak, Lauren McGibbon, Dave Hurtubise, Gary Jones, Paula Burrows, Jag Arneja, Julius Fair, Tristan Lawrie, Gaalen Engen, Colby Wilson, Jocelyne Loewen, Georgia Klebe-McCulloch, Pendo Muema, Kris Neufeld, Brody Romhanyi, Veronica Cormier and John Mee.

Based on Mary Rodgers' 1972 novel, Freaky Friday first hit screens in 1976, starring Barbara Harris and Jodie Foster. The popular franchise has been remade on screen twice since then, as a 1995 TV movie with Shelley Long and Gaby Hoffman, and again in 2003 with Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. Disney Theatrical Productions developed the contemporary stage musical adaptation, which has a book by Bridget Carpenter (Friday Night Lights, Parenthood), original songs by Tony and Pulitzer Prize winners Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey (Next to Normal, If/Then), and a score by David Lawrence. Freaky Friday premiered at Washington, D.C.'s Signature Theatre in 2016.

The production features direction by Steve Carr, production design by Perry Andelin Blake, costume design by Angus Strathie and choreography by John Carrafa.
