The 2026 Broadway Teachers Workshop, a summer professional development event in NYC for theatre educators, will feature workshops and talkbacks with Alex Brightman, Ariana DeBose, Stephen Schwartz, Judy Kuhn, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Derek Klena, Beth Leavel, Brad Oscar, Ann Harada, Kate Baldwin, and more. Participants will also get to see Broadway's Death of a Salesman starring Nathan Lane and Laurie Metcalf, The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York).
With five sessions planned between July 7-27, this year's event will include professional development workshops on directing, choreography, musical theatre, self-care for teachers, immersive theatre, ensemble building, intimacy coordination, grant writing, college selection, TikTok theatre, vocal health, lesson plan creation, and more. Attendees will also get to tour the Museum of Broadway, attend a Broadway sing-along cocktail party at Bond 45, attend a mixer at Sardi's, and get a private shopping experience at the Drama Book Shop. Show outings will feature post-show discussions with cast and crew (subject to availability). The sessions will also include networking opportunities throughout.
The workshop, produced in conjunction with Music Theatre International, aims to inspire middle and high school theatre and arts teachers with new teaching methods and skills. The workshops include the opportunity to earn 30 professional development hours and graduate level academic credit.
Registration for the event, which has sold out every year since its inception, is available at BroadwayTeachingGroup.com.
