The Cape Playhouse at the Cape Cod Center for the Arts’ upcoming production of A Chorus Line is set to begin performances July 24. The Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, directed by Joyce Chittick and choreographed by Rick Faugno, is scheduled to run through August 3 in Massachusetts.
Originally directed by Michael Bennett, who choreographed with Bob Avian, A Chorus Line tells the story of a Broadway dancers who bare their souls and put their lives "on the line" as they audition for an unnamed Broadway musical. A Chorus Line features a book by James Kirkwood and Nicholas Dante, music by Marvin Hamlisch, and lyrics by Edward Kleban.

A Chorus Line stars Sara Esty (An American in Paris) as Cassie, Tracy Jai Edwards (Legally Blonde) as Sheila, Darien Crago (Holiday Inn) as Kristine, Kim McClay (A Chorus Line tour) as Maggie, and Jeffrey Schecter (Fiddler on the Roof) as Zach are Brittany Bigelow (Fosse/Verdon) as Judy, Kevin Curtis (A Chorus Line national tour) as Richie, Michael John Hughes as Paul, Chris LeBeau (Chicago national tour) as Bobby, Hillary Porter (A Bronx Tale) as Diana, Manuel Santos (Aladdin) as Al, Brett Thiele (Escape to Margaritaville) as Mike, John Wolfe (Irving Berlin’s White Christmas national tour) as Larry, and Taylor Wright (A Chorus Line national tour) as Don.
Rounding out the line are Karly Burton as Tricia, Michael Canu as Mark, Kyra Christopher (Cabaret national tour) as Bebe, Leana Rae Concepcion (Comfort Women) as Connie, Madison Finney as Val, Evan Pouch as Tom, Sarah Sigman as Lois, Amanda Torsilieri as Vicki, Richard Westfahl as Roy, and Daxx Jayroe Wieser as Greg.
The limited engagement features music direction by Garrett Taylor, scenic design by Adam Koch, costume design by Molly Walz, lighting design by Kirk Bookman, and sound design by Joe Palermo. The production stage manager is Kate Ann Wilson, and casting is by Geoff Josselson Casting.
