Taibi Magar is directing the new musical, based on on R.J. Palacio’s best-selling novel of the same title.

The new musical Wonder, currently making its world premiere at Massachusetts' American Repertory Theatre, continues through February 15. Watch highlights from the production, including portions of "Precepts," "Moment to Shine," and "This Is War," in the video above.

Taibi Magar is directing the musical based on on R.J. Palacio’s best-selling novel of the same title, as well as its 2017 film adaption. Wonder began performances December 9, 2025, at the Loeb Drama Center.

The cast includes Garrett McNally and Max Voehl sharing the role of Auggie, Melvin Abston as Mr. Tushman, Donovan Louis Bazemore as Jack Will, Diego Cordova as Justin, Kaylin Hedges as Via, Kylie MiRae Kuioka as Summer, Raymond J. Lee as Mr. Browne, Reese Levine as Julian, Alison Luff as Isabel, Skylar Matthews as Charlotte, Javier Muñoz as Nate, Paravi as Miranda, Nathan Salstone as Space Auggie, Pearl Sun as Ms. Petosa and Mrs. Albans, and Nicholas Trupia as Amos. The ensemble comprises Ryan Behan and Maddy Le.

Grammy Award-winning duo A Great Big World (Ian Axel and Chad King) penned the music and lyrics for the musical with a book by Sarah Ruhl. Wonder follows the Pullman family and son Auggie, who has long worn a space helmet to hide his facial difference, as he navigates a world of kindness and cruelty.

Wonder also features choreography by Katie Spelman, scenic design by Matt Saunders, associate scenic design by Colin McIlvaine, costume design by Linda Cho, associate costume design by Herin Kaputkin, lighting design by Bradley King, sound design by Cody Spencer, associate direction by Cagla Karslioglu, music supervision by Nadia DiGiallonardo, music direction by Ryan Cantwell, acting coaching by Najah Muhammad, text vocal coaching by Kate Wilson, singing vocal coaching by Chris York, consultation by Matthew Joffe and Patricia Chibbaro, and production stage management by Timothy R. Semon.
