Tony winner and Seinfeld star Jason Alexander is directing the production, featuring choreography by Lee Martino, and musical direction by Darryl Archibald. The production features Jonathan Tunick's original orchestrations from the 1979 premiere, musical direction by Darryl Archibald, and choreography by Lee Martino.
Adapted from the Christopher Bond play of the same name into a book by Hugh Wheeler, Sweeney Todd centers on its titular barber who seeks revenge on a corrupt judge and turns to murder, with neighbor and accomplice Mrs. Lovett ultimately discovering they can dispose of the evidence by serving up the most unsettling meat pies to the people of London.
Swenson stars as Sweeney Todd alongside Margherita as Mrs. Lovett. They are joined onstage by Chris Hunter as Anthony, Allison Sheppard as Johanna, Norman Large as Judge Turpin, Nicholas Mongiardo-Cooper as Beadle Bamford, Austyn Myers as Tobias, Andrew Polec as Pirelli, Meghan Andrews as The Beggar Woman, and Jeff Lowe as The Overseer. The ensemble includes Gabbie Adner, Anthony Cannarella, Ryan Dietz, Grant Hodges, Bets Malone, Drew Margolis, Michael McClure, Hassan Nazari-Robati, Lizzy Sheck, Rianny Vasquez, and Toni Elizabeth White. The swings are Davide Costa and Maddie Miller Lacambra.
