Audible will return to SXSW this spring, offering a handful of panels and presentations, including a showcase of Off-Broadway hit Mexodus (which recently announced its encore engagement for this March.)
The presentation will mark the festival's first-ever showcase of a musical. It will take place March 15 at 8:30 PM at Vulcan Gas Company.
Mexodus is inspired by the real-life stories of African Americans who escaped bondage by going south into Mexico. Creators Robinson and Quijada also play all the characters in the show, and play all the music—with the help of a looping station that allows them to create the arrangements for every song in the show live in front of the audience every night.
Audible will release an audio recording of the show as an Audible Original June 18. The upcoming Off-Broadway bow follows hit runs in Baltimore; Washington, D.C.; and Berkeley, California.
