The Geffen Playhouse production of Edward Albee’s Tony-winning Who’s Afraid of VirginiaWoolf? officially opens April 28 in the Gil Cates Theater following previews that began April 19.
Directed by Gordon Greenberg (Guys and Dolls, Irving Berlin’s Holiday Inn), the production continues through May 22.

For the uninitiated, Albee’s play follows an older married couple (Martha and George) who invite a younger pair over for drinks and games. As the night wears on, dark secrets begin to spill out, sending both relationships on a destructive path.
The 60th anniversary production also has scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Alejo Vietti, lighting design by Elizabeth Harper, original music and sound design by Lindsay Jones, fight direction by Steve Rankin, and intimacy direction by Mia Schachter. The dramaturg is Sarah Rose Leonard, the production stage manager is J. Jason Daunter, and the assistant stage manager is Kyrsten Goodrich with casting by Phyllis Schuringa.
Daya Curley, Peppermint, and Sarah Stiles star in the stage musical based on the Amazon Prime series, with a book by MJ Kaufman and series creator Joey Soloway and a score by Faith Soloway.
Presented with Dublin's Fishamble theatre company, their joint 2022-2023 Transatlantic Commissions Program completes its inaugural year with internationally-presented readings.
