Dear Evan Hansen Tony winner Ben Platt will play 10 performances at Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre this holiday season.
Following his reopening of Broadway's newly renovated Palace Theatre in 2024, the stage and screen star will enjoy a two-week residency at the California venue. Tony winner Michael Arden will again direct.
Ben Platt: Live at the Ahmanson, which will be presented December 12-21, will see the Parade star joined by a star-studded set of special guests to perform a new concert of some of his greatest hits, as well as Broadway favorites.
Some of the artists who joined Platt at Broadway's Palace were Cynthia Erivo, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Hudson, Kacey Musgraves, Sam Smith, Micaela Diamond, and Shoshana Bean.
"After blowing audiences away last year at The Palace on Broadway, we are thrilled to welcome Ben back to our own legendary venue, the Ahmanson Theatre," said CTG Brindell & Milton Gottlieb Artistic Director Snehal Desai in a statement. "When you think of the very best in musical theatre, it simply doesn't get any better than Ben Platt, whose stage presence and charisma make him one of the seminal performers of his generation. Plus, you never know who is going to join him on stage each night! It promises to be the holiday event of the season."
Platt won the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical for his performance as Evan in Dear Evan Hansen, as well as the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance (youngest recipient in history). He later reprised his role in the Universal Pictures film adaptation alongside Julianne Moore and Amy Adams. He received a second Tony nomination for his work as Leo Frank in the Michael Arden-directed revival of Parade. Platt has also released three albums: 2019's Sing to Me Instead, 2021's Reverie, and 2024's Honeymind. He also produced, co-wrote, and starred in the award-winning Sundance film Theater Camp, which was released by Searchlight Pictures.
