Complete casting has been revealed for Pasadena Playhouse's upcoming production of Peter Shaffer's Amadeus.
As previously announced, I Am My Own Wife Tony winner Jefferson Mays will play Mozart's jealous rival, Salieri. He will be joined by Sam Clemmett (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) as Mozart, and his former A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder co-star, Tony nominee Lauren Worsham, as Constanze.
Gentleman's Guide Tony winner Darko Tresnjak will direct the production, which is set to begin performances February 1. In addition to the casting news, Pasadena Playhouse has extended the production prior to the start of performances. Originally set to run through March 8, the production will now continue through March 15. Opening night is set for February 15.
Mays, Clemmett, and Worsham will be supported by Kenajuan Bentley (Shrinking) as Van Swieten, Jared Andrew Bybee (Inherit the Wind) as Valet/Major-Domo, Jennifer Chang (The Dispute) as Venticelli, Matthew Patrick Davis (Side Show) as Joseph ll, Michelle Allie Drever as Katherina/Soprano, Alaysha Fox (The Three Women of Jerusalem) as Teresa Salieri/Soprano, Matthew Henerson (Romeo and Juliet) as Count Johann Kilian Von Strack, John Lavelle (The Royale) as Orsini-Rosenberg, Brent Schindele (The Sound of Music) as Cook/Kappelmeister/Harpsichordist, and Hilary Ward (Primary Trust) as Venticelli.

Amadeus premiered at London's National in 1979 starring Paul Scofield and Simon Callow, coming to Broadway the following year with Ian McKellen and Tim Curry. Miloš Forman directed a 1984 film version starring F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce, which won eight Academy Awards including Best Picture. The play has continued to flourish in the years since, getting a Broadway revival in 1999 and countless London stagings along with several radio productions.
Amadeus will feature scenic design by Alexander Dodge (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), costume design by Linda Cho (The Great Gatsby, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), hair/wig/makeup design by Will Vicari (Ragtime, Real Women Have Curves: The Musical), lighting design by Pablo Santiago, sound design by Jane Shaw, projection design by Aaron Rhyne (Anastasia, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), and intimacy consulting by Sasha Nicolle Smith (Topdog/Underdog, Eureka Day).
The production stage manager will be David S. Franklin (Eureka Day), and the assistant stage manager will be Alyssa Escalante (Topdog/Underdog). Casting is by Ryan Bernard Tymensky.
