The Broadway favorite is helming a new California revival of the musical that won her a Tony Award.

Good morning, Los Angeles! California's 5-Star Theatricals has found the full cast for its upcoming production of Hairspray, being directed by the musical's Tony-winning original star, Marissa Jaret Winokur. The production runs October 10-26.

Winokur has hand-picked newcomer Lexie Martin to take on her original role of Tracy Turnblad. Playing Turnblad matriarch Edna will be actor-writer Ryan O'Connor (Winokur's longtime best friend) alongside Garrett Clayton as Corny Collins, Jennifer Leigh Warren as Motormouth Maybelle, and Becky Lythgoe as Velma Von Tussle.

The cast will also include Dara Adedara as Cindy Watkins and Dynamite Judine, Mike Baker as Male Authority Figure, Alexander J. Brown as Seaweed, John Kasey Candelaria as IQ, Luc Clopton as Fender, Travis Joe Dixon as Wilbur, Christian Dorey as Duane, Logan Eliza as Amber, Bobby Hogan as Link, Malia Johnson as Little Inez, Rezia Landers as Lorrain and Dynamite Shayna, Wyatt Larrabee as Sketch, Almand Martin, Jr. as Thad, Rachel McLaughlan as Female Authority Figure, Madison North as Shelly, Luz Rodriguez as Dynamite Kamila, Hannah Sedlacek as Penny Pingleton, Brody Tarrant Sitton as Brad, Irelynn TerraNami as Lou Ann, Charlotte Scally as Tammy, Amy Smith as Brenda, and Matthew Smith as Gilbert.

Jaret's staging of the 2002 musical will also feature choreography by Clarice Ordaz, music direction by Anthony Lucca, lighting design by Brandon Baruch, sound design by Jonathan A. Burke, hair and wig design by Luis Martinez, and prop design be Alex Choate. Vernon Willet will serve as production stage manager.

Adapted from the cult favorite John Waters movie, Hairspray features a book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan and songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. One of Broadway's biggest hits of the early aughts, the show won eight 2003 Tony Awards, including performance wins for Winokur as Tracy and Harvey Fierstein as Edna, and Best Musical. The musical has proved to be a perennial audience favorite, getting the big screen movie musical treatment in 2007, a live TV production in 2016, and many national tours and West End runs.
