National Tour News James Monroe Iglehart Will Join Freestyle Love Supreme National Tour in Philadelphia

The Tony winner will perform at select performances in June.

Hamilton veteran and Tony winner James Monroe Iglehart will join the national tour of Freestyle Love Supreme as a special guest for select performances at the Kimmel Cultural Campus in Philadelphia. Iglehart will perform June 7-11, departing one day before the Philadelphia run concludes.

Conceived by Anthony Veneziale, the show is created by Veneziale and In The Heights and Hamilton collaborators Thomas Kail and Lin-Manuel Miranda. The show is described as a blend of hip-hop, improv theatre, and singing, with no two performances being the same.

The work concluded its second Broadway run January 2 at the Booth Theatre. It is also a recipient of a 2020 Special Tony Award and was featured in the Hulu documentary We Are Freestyle Love Supreme. The show is currently embarking on a national tour with special guests planned for select performances, which may included Miranda, Daveed Diggs, Wayne Brady, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, Arthur Lewis, Bill Sherman, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Alex Lacamoire. Founding member and Tony nominee Christopher Jackson previously joined the national tour of the show as a special guest at The Kennedy Center in D.C. during performances May 10-15.

Ellis a.k.a Jellis J; Mark Martin a.k.a Mandible; Kaila Mullady a.k.a Kaiser Rözé; James Rushin a.k.a Shifty Hills; and Dizzy Senze a.ka. Dizzy. 

The show is produced by Kail, Miranda, Jenny and Jon Steingart, and Jill Furman. It features set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Lisa Zinni, lighting design by Jeff Croiter, and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.
