Off-Broadway News Extended Run of Lesley Nicol's How the Hell Did I Get Here? Closes May 22

The Downton Abbey star's autobiographical show finishes its New York premiere at The McKittrick Hotel.

After an extended run, Lesley Nicol's musical autobiography How the Hell Did I Get Here? at The McKittrick Hotel's The Club Car plays its final performance May 22. The New York premiere began previews April 20 and officially opened April 27.

Directed by Luke Kernaghan, Downton Abbey star Nicol shares her journey from childhood to working actor to silver screen success with 10 original songs by composer and writer Mark Mueller, accompanying on piano. The production, with a book and music by Nicol and Mueller, features scenic design by Anshuman Bhatia, lighting design by Lucrecia Briceno, and sound design by Ray Nardelli.

Though known for playing Mrs. Patmore, Nicol is a stage veteran. She began her career in musicals with the original West End production of Jesus Christ Superstar. Mueller has written chart-topping pop songs, in addition to being a two-time Emmy nominee for Outstanding Achievement in Music and Lyrics.
