New York City will host a one-night-only concert of the new musical Signs of Life April 12 at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall. The work features a book, music, and lyrics by Christopher DeLair.
And producers Astro Lab Productions have assembled a starry cast of Broadway notables to perform the score, including artists from the musical's concept album, released earlier this year. Performers will include Shoshana Bean (Hell's Kitchen), Jenn Colella (Suffs), Leif Coomer (Mrs. Doubtfire), Bella Coppola (Smash), Charity Angél Dawson (Waitress), Amber Iman (Lempicka), Alexa Green (Wicked), and Sabrina Shah (Kimberly Akimbo). Additional performers are to be announced.
Signs of Life tells an original story about a young man coming of age in a dysfunctional Long Island family who gets some assistance from the 12 signs of the zodiac.
A concept album, featuring performances from much of the cast of the Seattle concert performance, is currently available on streaming platforms. Concert cast members Bean, Colella, Coomer, Coppola, Dawson, and Green all appear on the album, alongside Celisse, Damon Daunno, Jinkx Monsoon, Aoife O'Donovan, Solea Pfeiffer, and Vanessa Williams.
Tickets go on sale March 23 at Signs-of-Life.com.
