The story goes on for the Tony-nominated Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire musical Baby, which will be presented in concert March 17 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM at 54 Below with a portion of the proceeds benefiting Planned Parenthood.

The cast will include Kate Baldwin (Hello, Dolly!) as Arlene, Graham Rowat (Merrily We Roll Along) as Alan, Aeja L. Barrows (Six) as Lizzie, JJ Niemann (The Book of Mormon) as Danny, Caitlin Kinnunen (The Prom) as Nikki, and Jordan Kai Burnett (Romy & Michele: The Musical) as Pam.

The ensemble includes John Amalfitano, Brody Redman, MK McDonald, Ashia Collins, Davey Miller, Zachary Kropp, Katelyn Lauria, and Catherine DeLuce.

Maltby will direct the evening with musical direction by Canaan J. Harris.

The musical follows three couples navigating the emotional highs and anxieties that accompany impending parenthood.

Producer Robert W. Schneider said in a statement, “Baby is one of the most honest and human musicals ever written. It captures that moment in life when everything is about to change and you have no idea what comes next. Bringing this extraordinary cast together at 54 Below allows us to celebrate a musical that is both deeply funny and deeply moving.”

Baby, with a score by Maltby and Shire and a book by Sybille Pearson, played Broadway's Ethel Barrymore Theatre November 8, 1983-July 1, 1984. The production was nominated for seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The original cast boasted Liz Callaway, Todd Graff, James Congdon, Martin Vidnovic, Beth Fowler, and Catherine Cox

The Maltby/Shire score includes such tunes as "At Night She Comes Home to Me," "I Chose Right," "The Story Goes On," "Easier to Love," "Two People in Love," "With You," "I Want It All," and "And What If We Had Loved Like That."
