Auli'i Cravalho, Ben Platt, More Join New York Pops Gala Honoring Stephen Schwartz

The annual gala concert will be held April 27 at Carnegie Hall.

A starry lineup of Broadway talent, including two former Broadway Elphabas, will sing the songs of Stephen Schwartz with the New York Pops at their 43rd Birthday Gala April 27 at Carnegie Hall. Steven Reineke will conduct the gala concert honoring the Wicked songwriter.

The singers will include Tony nominee Shoshana Bean (WickedHell's Kitchen), Auli'i Cravalho (Cabaret), Tony nominee Judy Kuhn (Rags, Classic Stage Company's The Baker's Wife), Tony winner Lindsay Mendez (WickedMerrily We Roll Along), and Tony winner Ben Platt (Dear Evan Hansen).

The gala caps a busy season for Schwartz, whose 1976 musical The Baker's Wife was revived Off-Broadway by Classic Stage Company, while his newest musical, The Queen of Versailles, premiered on Broadway, both this past fall. Wicked: For Good released to movie theaters in November, and promptly broke box office records.

Stephen Schwartz's other titles include PippinGodspellThe Hunchback of Notre DamePocahontas, The Prince of Egypt, and Enchanted.
